What is the Communicating for Impact Award?

The following is taken from the SBN website:

People want to know about the good businesses are doing. They want easily-accessible information to help them make purchasing choices that will have a positive impact on people and nature. Sustainability is more than making sure you have your own house in order. It’s also about effectively communicating what you do, to the right people, through the right channels, to inspire people to make a difference.

This award will be presented to an organisation that is communicating sustainability through effective use of communication channels and audiences to make a tangible impact.

Our communication for impact

New Zealand has long relied on conventional vehicles powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) as our primary mode of transport. Our transition to electric vehicles (EVs) has lagged behind other countries. Auckland congestion alone costs the NZ economy $1.25 billion per year. Worse, the latest ‘Health and Air Pollution in New Zealand’ study concluded that 3,300 people die each year from car pollution, with the health impacts costing $10 billion.

Shifting to more sustainable modes of transport couldn't be more urgent. Since January 2022, we have been on a mission to educate New Zealanders about EVs. Our goal is to be New Zealand’s leading voice on EVs.

We test drive every EV that comes into the NZ market and provide video reviews to give Kiwis the information they need to make an informed decision, and to remove any fear about the switch to EVs. All reviews are shared through our social channels and a dedicated YouTube channel. We also maintain an EV Buyers guide so users can easily compare all models alongside reviews.

A big thank you to the SBN Team and judges for hosting a rapidly growing SBN Annual Awards dinner that recognises companies and individuals making a difference in emission and waste reductions, cleaner environments and community projects.

We would like to thank our fabulous Team and amazing Customers for their support to get us to where we are today. Also big shout out to Gav who dedicates his days to filming and creating beautiful EV video masterpieces!
