Being sustainable warriors ourselves, Ecotricity are proud and blown away by Wellington Zoo and their dedication to sustainable solutions.
There’s no monkey business at Wellington Zoo when it comes to reducing and off setting emissions.
Not only is their electricity supplied by Ecotricity with Wind Hydro and Solar power, They do lots of other things to be sustainable like having electric vehicles and solar panels on their main entrance building… So sustainable, you’ll go bananas!
Recently, One News spoke to Wellington Zoo Chief executive Karen Fifield who has been selected to lead a team of sustainable experts along with the United Nations.
The objective of the project is to see how Zoo’s can be more sustainable, ethical and energy efficient. How great is that!
Wellington Zoo have also dedicated a lot of time towards strengthening the connections between local communities, the environment and wildlife. They hope by doing so, aroha (love) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship) to be more sustainable will flourish.
