What we love about it. It’s NZ’s most popular EV, is pure electric and has impressive pickup. A lot of businesses and families have purchased the Nissan Leaf as their primary city car. We’ve had one for 4 years and it hasn’t missed a beat, costs the equivalent of 23 cents a litre for Ecotricity electricity and near zero servicing costs.
There is a new model that has been released in Europe which boasts 30 kWh and 60 kWh options which will increase new Leafs, when they arrive, to 350 kilometres, bring it on we say.
The news gets better. The Nissan LEAF is already 95% recyclable. Not only that, 20% of the materials used in manufacturing the LEAF is derived from recycled material.
But wait there’s more! The Nissan Leaf 2017 model has ~400 km of range and is already selling in Japan.
There is also a 2018 model rumoured to have ~600km range. Both models have the ability to provide V2G (Vehicle to Grid) power to your house.
Bring it on we say!

Sparkies and Chippies beware, speeding tickets await you in the Nissan e-NV200, BUT, what you spend on speeding tickets you will definitely save in fuel costs!! New Zealands most popular EV, the Nissan Leaf just got bigger.
